Funding for young people

Are you part of a school or community group that could do with some extra money? Do you have a great idea for a project and just need the funds to make it happen? Here are some funding organisations that you can apply to for money.

Young Roots

If you are aged 13 to 25 and would like to do a project about the history of your local community, you could apply for a Young Roots fund.

Young Roots give between £3,000 and £25,000 for heritage projects. You will need to work with a heritage organisation, like a museum, library or wildlife trust, but you will be leading the project.

Find out more at Heritage Lottery Fund – Young Roots.

Sussex Community Foundation

The Sussex Community Foundation gives money to community and voluntary groups in Sussex, like scout groups or art clubs. Any group can apply and smaller community based groups are especially welcome. Most grants are for under £1,000 but you could get up to £5,000.
