If you play an orchestral instrument at grade 5 or above, why not apply to join the South Downs Youth Orchestra (SDYO)?
We are an orchestra of 75 young musicians, and we play a wide range of music. It’s a great experience to play in a large orchestra and you will get expert coaching to play well. Senior members of the orchestra will also get the chance to perform solos or concertos.

We have performed in venues all across East Sussex and beyond, including the Royal Albert Hall and St John’s Smith Square in London.
We play lots of different kind of music, from Beethoven and Mozart to Mission Impossible and Star Wars!
We rehearse term time only at Priory School in Lewes on Friday evenings, from 6 to 8.30pm. Malcolm Warnes is the conductor.
