Boy playing the saxophone in orchestra

East Sussex Youth Orchestra

The East Sussex Youth Orchestra (ESYO) is the county’s top youth orchestra for 14 to 21 year olds. We meet during the school holidays, usually at Christmas or Easter and in the summer. Courses last about a week and we prepare for a concert or series of concerts in East Sussex or abroad.

We have performed all across the county, as well as London’s Royal Albert Hall and even at the Edinburgh Festival. For our 30th anniversary year in summer 2009 we performed three concerts in Venice and Tuscany in Italy to standing ovations at each concert!

If you think you’ve got what it takes to join the ESYO, why not apply to audition? You need to be 14 or over. If you are a strings player you need to be grade 7 or above, or grade 8 for woodwind and brass.
