Do you play a woodwind instrument like the flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone or bassoon? If you are grade 6 standard or above and are aged 14 or over, then why not apply to join our new group, the East Sussex Woodwind Sinfonia (ESWS)?
The ESWS meets for short courses in March and every summer at the East Sussex Music Service summer school.
We play lots of different music, from wind chamber classics by composers such as Mozart and Strauss to original modern works. We also play music specially devised for the ESWS.
As well as playing your own instrument, you will get the chance to play some speciality instruments, such as the:
- piccolo
- alto flute
- cor anglais
- alto and bass clarinets
- soprano, tenor and baritone saxophones
- contrabassoon.
Future performances are planned for East Sussex and further afield, and we plan to work with guest musicians and composers. Watch this space for more details.
You need to be grade 6 standard or above and at least 14 years old.
