As well has having some of the country’s most talented skateboarders and BMX riders, Hastings is home to the Whiterock Gardens Skate Park and the UK's only cradle.

The park wouldn’t exist without the hard work of local skateboarders and the support of the East Sussex Youth Development Service Detached Team.
The Detached Team runs indoor and outdoor competitions at the skate
park.
Skateboarders and BMX riders can use the skate park.
You cannot use a scooter there because it is too dangerous.

Whiterock Gardens Skate Park cost a total of £215, 000 to build. Local skateboarders raised this money from Hastings Borough Council, YouthBank and from the Boyley Fund.

A cradle is like a big concrete tennis ball cut in half, and good riders can go upside down in it without falling down because of centrifugal force.
