Youth Cabinet campaigns – Transport: get on board

The top two issues chosen by you in the Big Vote 2009 election were transport and the environment. So we are focusing on these topics until the end of 2011.

What we’ve done so far and what’s next

We think that key issues for young people are:

  • access to services
  • safety
  • affordability and
  • identification.

But we need to find out what you and other young people across the county think.

Tell us your views

Thanks to everyone who completed The Big Transport and Environment Questionnaire. Find out more about the results.

If you didn't manage to complete the questionnaire you can still let us know your thoughts on either of our campaigns – just get in touch. Contact us by:

Getting local authorities’ views

What do East Sussex County Council and other authorities in Sussex do to make public transport easy for you to use? We’ve been finding out.

In July we met with an officer from the County Council’s Transport and Environment Department to find out how the Council makes bus services cheaper for the public and how much this costs them.

Speaking to other youth cabinets

We are speaking to Brighton & Hove and West Sussex Youth Cabinets to look at other possibilities and ideas to make public transport more affordable for young people.
