Young Inspectors in East Sussex

We are looking for young people like you to become Young Inspectors in East Sussex. You will work with other young people and make contact with services in the local area, research and inspect them in a fun and exciting way. As a Young Inspector you will then recommend improvements that will bring change to the service you inspected. This will benefit all young people and the service!
Sounds good? Read on…

What is in it for me?

As a Young Inspector you will:

  • receive training and work experience,
  • get £75* on completion of a full inspection (this means training, planning, inspecting and reviewing),
  • make a difference to your local community,
  • gain an ASDAN qualification – only if you want to,
  • make friends and have fun,
  • boost your employability,
  • have travel expenses paid and refreshments provided.

*Usual practice within Children’s Services is to issue vouchers. However, the agreement to give a cash payment in this project has been set nationally by funders.

What can I expect from the programme and what is expected of me?

You will receive two days of fun, practical training with other Young Inspectors supported by a Local Support Worker and a trainer. This will prepare you to work well as a team and help you to understand how to become a good inspector and reporter.

All we ask is that you:

  • commit to about 37 hours of your time
  • are enthusiastic about making a difference to your local community,
  • respect others
  • have a passion to develop yourself.
