Have you ever used a service and thought that you could improve it? Want to suggest ideas for change, but unsure of how to get your voice heard? Why not apply to become a young inspector and make a difference?
Youth4U – Young Inspectors help to voice young people’s opinions on the services they use.
Services include:
- transport
- health clinics
- community policing
- libraries
- career advice
- youth centres.
Disabled young people wanted as new young inspectors
Would you like the chance to tell the bosses what you think? We are recruiting six young people who are registered as disabled to be young inspectors. You will work with other young people to research and inspect local services in a fun and exciting way. Then you'll tell the bosses how you think they can make their services more young people friendly.
As a young inspector you will:
- receive training and work experience,
- make a difference to your local community,
- gain an ASDAN qualification – only if you want to,
- make friends and have fun,
- boost your employability,
- have travel expenses paid and refreshments provided.
You will receive some fun, practical training with other young inspectors supported by a local support worker. This will prepare you to work well as a team and help you to understand how to become a good inspector and reporter.
All we ask is that you:
- commit to about 15 hours of your time
- are enthusiastic about making a difference to your local community,
- respect others
- have a passion to develop yourself.
