If you are a young mum or dad, why not go along to your local young parent group? It’s a great chance to get out of the house, meet other parents and take part in activities like child first aid, crafts or nail art.

The groups are free and you take your child with you – some have a crèche, or at other groups your child stays with you. Some groups arrange summer outings, carnivals and even pram races!

You can join while you are still pregnant. Make sure you phone before you go along just to check that the times of the group are still up-to-date.
